National mourning day observed at IUB

To observe the 43th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day 2018, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a Discussion Session on the glorious life and contributions of Bangabandhu. The Discussion Session was held on Thursday, 16 August 2018 at IUB Campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. National Professor Rafiqul Islam attended the program as the Chief Guest and spoke on the versatile life and contributions of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Media writing students to visit Old Dhaka

On Friday, 20th July 2018, two sections of students attending the course CMN207: Introduction to Media Writing of the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) went on a field trip to Old Dhaka under the supervision of the course instructors Ms. Raiyana Rahman and Ms. Mushfeqa Islam, to visit popular landmarks and interview locals in order to understand and write features on culture and heritage of Old Dhaka. Three students from the Department of Media and Communication have been selected to attend The 29th International Youth Forum to be held in Seoul and Goyang City, Republic of Korea. Synthia Kainath Nur, student of Media and Communication department from Independent University, Bangladesh has been selected for the 2018 Korean Government Invitation Program (KGIP) for students from partner countries. She has been chosen by the recommendation of Professor Zakir Hossain Raju, Head of Media and Communication department.
