National mourning day observed at IUB

To observe the 43th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day 2018, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a Discussion Session on the glorious life and contributions of Bangabandhu. The Discussion Session was held on Thursday, 16 August 2018 at IUB Campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka.
National Professor Rafiqul Islam attended the program as the Chief Guest and spoke on the versatile life and contributions of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He discussed on the struggles and roles Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman played and highlighted the significances of liberation war to the audience.
Prof M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB presided over the Discussion Session and spoke on the occasion. Dr. Mahbub Alam, Dean, Scholl of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, IUB, delivered the welcome speech. Mr. Obydullah Al Marjuk, Senior Lecturer, IUB introduced the Speaker to the audience. Ms. Jessica Tartila Suma, Lecturer, conducted the program.
