Dr Md Jahid Hossain Bhuiyan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Law, Independent University Bangladesh. He was an Associate Professor at the Department of Law & Justice, Southeast University, Bangladesh.

Dr Bhuiyan holds a PhD in law from the University of Queensland, Australia and an LLM from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. He completed his postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL), Germany. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Oxford (UK), Cardiff University (UK), Emory University (USA) and University of British Columbia (Canada).

Dr Bhuiyan is an occasional reviewer for the Asian Journal of Political Science, the Aspen Review of International Business and Trade Law, Employee Relations, Islam and Christian, Muslim Relations Journal, the Journal of Asian and African Studies, the Macquarie Journal of International and Comparative Environmental Law, the Muslim World Journal of Human Rights, Politics & Religion, and the Review of European, Comparative & International Environmental Law. His research has been published in renowned academic publishers such as Brill, Federation Press, Hart Publishing, LexisNexis Butterworths, Oxford University Press, and Taylor & Francis. His research interests include International Law, and Law and Religion.

He has presented research papers at conferences/seminars organised by the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), Abo Akademi University (Finland), and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Germany).
