Seminar on ‘Mediation – an Alternative to Litigation’ held at IUB

The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a Seminar on “Mediation – an alternative to litigation: A way forward in conflict resolution for the new millennium’ on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at IUB campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. Barrister Dr. Mohamed M. Keshavjee was the Keynote Speaker of the Seminar. Dr. Keshavjee is an internationally recognized specialist on cross cultural mediation and he has trained over a thousand mediators in some 25 countries of the world. He is an author of 3 books and was awarded with the prestigious Gandhi King Ikeda Peace Award for his contribution to Peach and Human Rights education.
Prof. M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB put forth the introductory remarks while Dr. Mahbub Alam, Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, IUB, delivered the welcome speech. Ms. Sharmeen Ahmed, Senior Lecturer of the department introduced the speaker and gave formal vote of thanks.
Among others, Trustees of the university, Deans of the Schools, Heads of the departments and members of the faculties attended the seminar.
