English Language Resource Center inaugurated at IUB

The Department of English of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) inaugurated an English Language Resource Center at its campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. An opening ceremony in this connection was held on Thursday, 12 May 2016.
The English Language Resource Center (ELRC) of IUB is an innovative solution for imparting English language skills to students. It will equip them with skills for their present and future academic pursuits and also prepare them to function effectively in actual professional, social and everyday situations.
Prof M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB, formally inaugurated the Center as the Chief Guest. He mentioned that learning any language is a lifelong process and we need to learn from best practices. With this objective, he urged upon all concerned to make this Center meaningful.
Mr George Mesthos, Cultural Affairs Officer of American Center, Dhaka was present at the ceremony as the Special Guest.Ms Katy Mc Alary, English Language Fellow at IUB also spoke on the occasion.
MrTowhid Bin Muzaffar, Head, Department of English, IUB, delivered the introductory remarks and explained the purpose of opening this Center while Prof Razia Sultana Khan from the department of English, IUB,gave the vote of thanks.
